Viper is Miles Mayhem’s main mask and the leading mask of V.E.N.O.M., the counterpart of Matt Trakker’s Spectrum. He wears it most often when he flies Switchblade, and it spits a stream of corrosive poison that eats through almost anything. In Mardi Gras Mystery the M.A.S.K. Computer analyses the compound and reports its ingredients as 15 percent carbolic acid, 9 percent neutro dioxide and the remainder hydrogen suspension, adding that the only known user is Miles Mayhem.
The fan wiki records two oddities. In The Magma Mole, Mayhem calls the mask Sniper and it still answers to him, and it says that when he co-drives Outlaw he keeps Viper in storage and wears Python instead. The toy line’s original color guides, according to the wiki, called it Superscope. The wiki lists the mask across most of the first season, starting with The Deathstone.
Kenner first packed Viper with Switchblade. The later Wolfbeast release is where Wikipedia says the mask is called New Viper and makes a holographic clone. Our Wolfbeast record lists a plain Viper Mask.
