Bruce Sato, codenamed Magic, is an engineer and toymaker who acts as Matt Trakker's second-in-command. He wears the Lifter mask, which makes an anti-gravity field, and typically drives the Rhino truck. Doug Stone voices him in the cartoon.
Bruce Sato is a mechanical engineer and toymaker, described as Matt Trakker’s de facto second in command. He is known for speaking in Confucian-style riddles that puzzle everyone except Matt. Doug Stone gives him his voice.
His mask is Lifter, which makes an anti-gravity field. Lifter belongs to the detachable ATV of the Rhino semi, which is the vehicle he is paired with in the first series of Kenner figures (the set packs him with Matt Trakker). In the cartoon he often drives the main Rhino while Matt flies Thunderhawk, and one episode guide has him as Thunderhawk’s co-pilot in Solaria Park.
Other masks connected to Bruce are Grasshopper, from the Rescue Mission helipack, which allows huge jumps, and New Lifter, from the Dynamo, a Volkswagen dune buggy that splits into a helicopter and an assault cart. New Lifter creates a holographic double.
Bruce’s job in the story is practical. He is the team member who builds and repairs, and the one Matt trusts to keep a vehicle running while he is somewhere else.
Masks worn
- GrasshopperLets the wearer leap very long distances (toy only).
- LifterControls gravity and levitates heavy objects, up to a whole vehicle.
