Dynamo is a Volkswagen dune buggy that splits into a helicopter and an assault cart. It belongs to Bruce “Magic” Sato, the team’s mechanical engineer and de facto second-in-command.
Kenner released it in the Split Seconds series. A collector guide describes the toy as an off-road vehicle and turbine with an assault cart. The cart separates into two figure flight packs. Listed accessories are a fusion bomb and a pair of power Uzis.
Sato’s mask is New Lifter, which creates a holographic double in addition to the anti-gravity field of the original Lifter. The Split Seconds package gives him the extra translucent figure to match the double.
A fan article that examined the 1988 Kenner Action Toy Guide says the chassis coloring on Dynamo in the catalog differs from the toy that shipped, and suggests the pictures were taken from concept art.
Dynamo did not appear in the cartoon. Sato’s earlier Kenner toys are Rhino, where he operates the ATV, and the Rescue Mission pack.
