Buddie Hawks, codename Clutch, is the team's intelligence specialist and chief mechanic at Boulder Hill, where he keeps up the gas-station cover. His mask, Penetrator, lets him pass through solid objects. Mark Halloran voices him in the cartoon.
Buddie Hawks runs Boulder Hill. The team’s headquarters is disguised as a gas station, and Buddie looks after the vehicle fleet and the cover business. Sources spell his first name Buddie and Buddy. He is also described as a master of disguise and intelligence expert. Mark Halloran voices him, and also Ace Riker, Sly Rax, Cliff Dagger and Duane Kennedy.
His mask is Penetrator, which lets him pass through solid objects. He usually co-pilots Firecracker with Hondo MacLean, and sometimes flies Hurricane in the cartoon. A fan write-up of the series says Firecracker returns as his personal vehicle after Hondo’s version is destroyed. His own toy vehicle, Wildcat, is a red Ford F-350 tow truck that becomes a vertical fighter; its mask is Ditcher, which digs trenches.
On the Kenner side, he is one of the two figures included with the Boulder Hill playset in the first series, alongside Alex Sector, and no vehicle came with him.
The fan write-up also records recurring civilians around the base, including an old man and his wife who get caught up in Buddie’s and Gloria Baker’s call-up scenes.
