Hondo MacLean, codename Striker, is the team's weapons specialist. He wears the Blaster mask, which fires a heat-based beam, and drives the orange Firecracker pickup until it is destroyed, then the turquoise Hurricane. Doug Stone voices him.
Hondo MacLean is the weapons and tactics specialist, and by day a high school history teacher. His surname is spelled several ways across sources: MacLean, McLean and MacClean. Doug Stone voices him, as he does Matt Trakker, Dusty Hayes and Bruce Sato.
His first vehicle is Firecracker, an orange Ford F-350 pickup that turns into a mobile weapon platform with a detachable dirt bike. Its mask is Blaster, a heat beam. Firecracker is in the first episode and was one of the first-series toys. It is destroyed in A Matter of Gravity, and Hondo is given Hurricane, a turquoise 1957 Chevrolet that becomes a six-wheeled command post. Its mask is Blaster II, an improved version. Hurricane is called Night Stalker in one episode, and the second Kenner series gave him a Hurricane figure set. Firecracker comes back later, now driven by Buddie Hawks.
Other items tied to him are Sea Attack, a small attack boat sold in Europe, and Ramp-Up, a repair ramp that becomes a tank. A reference list says Ramp-Up was planned for the fourth series and never released.
