Blaster is the first mask Hondo MacLean uses, and he wears it as the driver of Firecracker. It fires intense beams of energy, and the fan wiki says its look and its effect are a parody of the visor worn by Cyclops of the X-Men.
It was retired after the events of A Matter of Gravity, in which Firecracker is wrecked by an anti-gravity attack. Hondo then receives a new vehicle, Hurricane, and a new mask, Blaster II. The wiki also notes that in the novelization of Panda Power Hondo calls the mask Hot Shot, which it guesses was an earlier name from the concept stage; the page cites the book itself, but we have not seen it.
Kenner packed Blaster with Firecracker in 1985 and with Matt Trakker and Hondo MacLean in a 1986 two-pack. The wiki’s list of cartoon episodes stops well before the end of the first season, which matches the retirement.
