Dusty Hayes, codename Powderkeg, is the team's stunt driver and demolitions specialist. He drives Gator, an orange Jeep CJ7 with a detachable hydroplane, and wears the Backlash mask, which fires kinetic blasts. Doug Stone voices him in the cartoon.
Dusty Hayes is the team’s stunt driver and all-terrain specialist, and a reference list also credits him with demolitions. By day he works as a pizza cook and delivery man. His voice in the cartoon is Doug Stone’s, the same actor as Matt Trakker.
His vehicle is Gator, an orange Jeep CJ7 that releases a hydroplane. Backlash, his mask, fires kinetic blasts. Gator is one of the vehicles in the cartoon’s first episode and one of the toys in the first Kenner series, where it comes with Dusty.
Later versions of his gear are Billboard Blast, a billboard that opens to a gun emplacement and carries the Vacuum mask, and Afterburner, a dragster that splits into a small jet and a turret and carries New Backlash, a holographic clone.
An episode guide for Solaria Park lists him with Matt Trakker, Bruce Sato, Brad Turner, Hondo McLean and Gloria Baker on the M.A.S.K. side, with Gloria co-piloting Gator.
