Notes

Series Four (Split Seconds) is dated 1987 to 1988 on Wikipedia, which we follow. Wikipedia names the mask New Maraj; one collector guide lists it as Maraj.

Detonator is a magenta Volkswagen Beetle that separates into an aerial attack craft and an assault quad bike. It belongs to Jacques “Trailblazer” LaFleur, the Quebec lumberjack and natural-disaster specialist of the team. A collector guide describes the toy as a classic Volkswagen and hovercraft that splits into an attack bike.

Kenner released it in the Split Seconds series, where every vehicle divides in two and the package includes a translucent Computer Image figure of the driver. The listed features are mortar units, thunder missiles, a turbine and a swiveling gunner seat.

LaFleur’s mask is New Maraj, which creates a holographic clone of the wearer. His earlier Maraj masks create an invisibility screen, and he used the original in Volcano.

Detonator did not appear in the cartoon. LaFleur’s other Kenner vehicles are Volcano in Series Two and the European pack Glider Strike. In the cartoon LaFleur often operates Volcano alone, and Brendan McKane voices him.
