About This Figure

Wikipedia dates the Split Seconds wave to 1987 to 1988. US packaging was redesigned for this wave while European releases kept the earlier red box.

Detonator is a Beetle-style car that splits into an aerial craft and a quad bike, one for Jacques LaFleur and one for his translucent Computer Image double. The box includes two Maraj masks and two thunder missiles. Jacques’ earlier vehicle was Volcano, shared with Matt Trakker. Detonator is the one that gives him a vehicle of his own. Of the Series 4 sets it is one of the more sought after, and a complete one needs both figures and both missiles. The two-mask idea is the main thing separating it from Series 2 and 3.
