T-Bob is the cowardly robot companion of Scott Trakker in the 1985 DIC cartoon, voiced by Graeme McKenna. He tells bad jokes, panics easily, and turns into a motorcycle-style vehicle that Scott keeps fitting with new gadgets.
T-Bob is the robot who lives with Scott Trakker and tags along on the team’s business. Graeme McKenna voices him in the DIC cartoon, in the same cast that includes Brad Turner, Calhoun Burns and Julio Lopez. The character is written as cowardly, prone to bad jokes, and quick to be scared.
Reference lists say he converts into a vehicle: a three-wheel scooter in one description, and a single-wheeler in the cartoon. A fan write-up of the series describes a motorcycle mode and records the add-ons Scott gives him: an air boat fan whose pontoons retract so he can go back to motorcycle mode, a paddle wheel and skis for water, a hydrofoil board from his lower torso, a snow thrower, a camera and a Goop Gun. The same write-up notes that T-Bob grumbles that the Goop Gun never worked properly, and that he was unhappy at being stuck with the snow-thrower attachments in Acapulco.
The name is said to stand for Thingamabob in a UK Fleetway comic. Treat that as the comic’s explanation, not the cartoon’s.
In the story, T-Bob is the comic relief and a tool for Scott. He has no mask. In Fog on Boulder Hill he is locked out of the station during the battle and later sent to find and secure the printing plates hidden in a car. One account says Scott built him, which fits how the cartoon treats the two as a team, but the fan write-up does not confirm it.
