Notes

Wikipedia spells the name Pitstop Catapult; the collector guide spells it Pit Stop Catapult. The sources used here give no first cartoon episode for it.

Pit Stop Catapult is a roadside fueling station that becomes an armored catapulting grinder. It is Sly “Wrecker” Rax’s vehicle in the racing wave.

Kenner released it in Series Three in 1987. A collector guide lists a saw-tooth shredder, stacked tires, tank treads and a catapult arm. The same guide says it first appeared in the second season of the cartoon.

Rax wears the Sawblade mask, which fires slashing blades. The collector guide describes it as simulating spitting out saw blades.

The toy sits with Billboard Blast and The Collector as a roadside disguise rather than a road vehicle. Rax’s first vehicle was Piranha, a BMW motorcycle in Series One, with the Stiletto mask. Rax is the sunglasses-wearing mercenary who, in the cartoon, is often shown falling asleep on the job. Mark Halloran voices Rax in the cartoon. In the cartoon Rax is also shown resenting it when his teammates fawn over Miles Mayhem.
