Goliath is a pair of vehicles. Goliath II is an indigo Ford L8000 flatbed truck driven by “Chief” Nevada Rushmore, which turns into a command station and missile launcher and serves as the launch platform for Goliath I. Goliath I is Matt Trakker’s yellow and indigo Formula One race car, which launches from the truck and becomes a fighter jet.
Kenner released the set in Series Three in 1987 with two figures. Trakker wears the Shroud mask, which creates a temporary fog. Rushmore wears the Totem mask, which fires small totem-shaped projectiles. A collector guide lists a jet fighter, a cockpit, blaster guns, landing gear, missiles and a launcher, a flame extinguisher, a movable cab and thrusters. A fan review remembers two large missile launchers.
Both vehicles debut in the cartoon in episode 67, the second of the racing episodes.
Rushmore, a Native American mechanic and Trakker’s childhood friend, joined the cartoon in its second season. Goliath is his only Kenner vehicle. Trakker’s Formula One car in the set belongs to the racing season, when the show moved from crime fighting to car racing.
