Roles

M.A.S.K.

V.E.N.O.M.

Brian George is the one member of this cast who came in late, arrived for the racing season, and went on to a career most viewers would recognise before they recognised his cartoon voices. He played both of the rival racers in that season’s storyline, Ali Bombay for the heroes and Lester Sludge for V.E.N.O.M., so the rivalry is one voice answering itself.

Two rivals, one actor

Ali Bombay is the motorcycle racer from Kandukar who rides Bullet, and Lester Sludge is his V.E.N.O.M. counterpart. Wikipedia credits Brian with both and says he appears in eight episodes, and our own episode pages list one or both characters in exactly eight episodes of the second season. That agreement is why we hold the credit as confirmed, but only one of the eight, Challenge of the Masters, has been checked by us against an episode credit page that names him. The other seven are listed on his profile as unchecked [1].

The pairing follows the pattern of the cast around him, where Doug Stone is both Matt Trakker and Maximus Mayhem and Brendan McKane is both Miles Mayhem and Alex Sector, applied to a pair of racers.

Who he is

Wikipedia says he was born in Nahariya, Israel, to Mizrahi Jewish parents of Indian-Jewish and Iraqi-Jewish descent, the youngest of four, and that the family moved to London a year later and to Toronto in 1966. The page gives his birthday as 1 July 1952 in the infobox and 27 July 1952 in the text, and we print both rather than choose. He studied theatre at the University of Toronto without graduating and trained at The Second City, alongside John Candy among others [1].

Around the cartoon

The Wikipedia filmography puts the cartoon in a busy stretch: The Edison Twins (1984 to 1986), The Care Bears Movie in 1985, Dennis the Menace in 1986 and Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixietails in 1987. Dennis the Menace is a credit he shares with Sharon Noble and Brennan Thicke, and Doug Stone’s Wikipedia page lists an All-New Dennis the Menace, though we have not confirmed that these are all the same production [1][2].

On camera he was Babu Bhatt in Seinfeld, Raj’s father in The Big Bang Theory, and Arjun Avasarala in The Expanse. In animation he was Jazzman in Batman: The Animated Series, Duff Killigan in Kim Possible, Guru Pathik in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Ki-Adi-Mundi in The Clone Wars, and in games he voiced parts in Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins and Captain Barbossa in Kingdom Hearts II [1].

  1. Wikipedia, Brian George. His own view of the cartoon is not on record in any interview we found.
  2. Dennis the Menace had several productions; we have not confirmed that every cast member named on this site appeared in the same one.
