Roles

M.A.S.K.

Brennan Thicke was a child when he recorded Scott Trakker, a child character, which is the kind of casting that needs no explaining. The things that do need explaining are the numbers: how old he was, and whether he came to the show before or after Dennis the Menace.

Scott Trakker

Scott is Matt Trakker’s son, and the credit for him is the cleanest on the sheet: Wikipedia, Matt-Trakker.com and the MASKFORCE credit pages all give him to Brennan and to nobody else. In the episodes we opened he is credited in full in The Deathstone and The Oz Effect and, in High Noon, only in the Safety Tips, which is how MASKFORCE labels his part there [3].

Brennan described Scott as more composed and intelligent than himself, more of a thinker from what he remembers. He was hired through Marsha Goodman, who directed Dennis the Menace, on which he had voiced the title character for about two years, and he thinks he was thirteen or fourteen when he was cast. By his account his voice changed during puberty, which got him removed from Dennis the Menace, and he described Scott as older than himself. He credited his father, the actor Alan Thicke, with getting him in the door but said he still had to perform to keep the part. He worked only with Goodman and met the rest of the cast once [1][4].

Where the sources disagree

IMDb gives his birth date as 17 December 1974, which would make him ten when the series began in 1985. That cannot be reconciled with thirteen or fourteen, and neither can IMDb’s 1986 to 1988 dates for Dennis the Menace be reconciled with being removed from it before the cartoon We therefore hold his biography as reported, not confirmed. The likeliest explanations are a memory twenty years after the fact in a 2006 interview or an error in the database, and we cannot say which [1][2].

The fan blog Agents of M.A.S.K. adds that he was nominated for a Young Artist Award in 1986 for Scott Trakker and in 1987 for Dennis the Menace. We found no second source, so we report it as the blog’s claim. It also says he co-wrote a song on Jordan Knight’s 1999 solo debut, was a director of a Venice Beach medical cannabis collective, and is chief financial officer of his wife’s wedding dress company [3].

Family

Wikipedia’s article on Alan Thicke names Brennan as one of two sons from his first marriage, to Gloria Loring, along with Robin Thicke, but gives no birth years. IMDb lists Loring as a parent for Brennan too [2][4].

What he said about the toys

He noted that the Kenner figures do not carry his likeness, so it was not like an actor seeing a toy modeled on himself. He collected the toys as a child and regrets not keeping them, since he played with them roughly. At the time of the interview he was working in real estate, did not continue in film or television, and did not remember favorite episodes [1].
