About This Figure
Never released. Shown in the Split Seconds planning material but absent from shops. Sources differ on the details: Albert Penello describes a holding tank, Wikipedia an anti-aircraft gun disguised as a holding tank tower named New Torch, Matt-Trakker.com a fuel tank that changes into a gun turret.
Thunderball was the V.E.N.O.M. half of the Split Seconds line that Kenner planned and then never shipped. It was to pair Cliff Dagger with the Torch mask, and the sources agree on that much and on the fact that it never reached shops, but they describe the toy in three different ways: a holding tank (Albert Penello’s page), a fuel tank that changes into a gun turret (Matt-Trakker.com), and an anti-aircraft gun disguised as a holding tank tower with a New Torch mask (Wikipedia). We have no photograph we can host, so this entry is the record of a toy that exists only in catalogue listings and collectors’ memory.
Agents of M.A.S.K. asks in its post on the 1988 Kenner Action Toy Guide why neither Thunderball nor Ramp-Up was ever released, and we found no published answer; the same guide shows several of the other Split Seconds vehicles under an Available in Spring 1988 banner. Matt-Trakker.com notes that a fan has since made a custom 3-D printed version. That custom is a fan work and is not catalogued here as a Kenner toy.
