Meteor is Ace “Falcon” Riker’s vehicle in the racing season. It is a white Grumman F-14 Tomcat style stunt jet that splits into a smaller aerial fighter and a missile-launching tank. A collector guide describes the jet as converting into a flying pod or a tank.
Kenner released it in Series Three in 1987. The listed features are torpedo missiles, a tank command center, a cockpit, a stun bomb and fold-down shields.
Riker wears the Cruise Control mask, which takes control of other vehicles’ speed. The collector guide describes it as simulating speeding up and slowing down a vehicle.
In the cartoon Meteor debuts in episode 71. That episode falls late in the ten-episode racing season, which started at episode 66. Riker’s earlier vehicle was Slingshot in Series Two, and Mark Halloran voices him in the cartoon. Riker is a former NASA test pilot who owns a hardware store in civilian life.
